I've updated to PP 2015 and it's the same old problem. Reading people's experiences here just seems to indicate the randomness of this problem, but I'm now at my wits end. I had to roll back to 8.1 to avoid crashes. Etc.Ĭrashing started for me when CC 2014 updated to 8.2. It crashed when I deleted an audio file, it crashed when I pushed play, it crashed when I moved a video file on the timeline. It seems to have no rhyme or reason for the crashing. Premiere just now crashed when I clicked the start menu for windows. It pops up sometimes when I just click the "Window" link at the top of the program, sometimes when I change from Edit to Color workspaces, sometimes when I change the curser to another tool. Premiere Pro 2015 continually crashes as well as having "Invalid Menu Operation" popping up out of nowhere for almost anything.

With that said, I'm going back to the regular CC version for a while until some of the quirks in CC2015 get worked out. I love Premiere so its hard to be too mad at them. I hope this helps further the discussion and Adobe can find a solution. I'm still having some issues with audio dropout though so its not perfect yet. Just doing that step alone on an earlier attempt didn't change anything though.įor a little more insight into the background of the project, I'm using. My ADD can't handle the frequent force quits! For good measure I also opted out of Autosave but I can't say what kind of impact this had. Its a bit chunky at times but at least its not freezing and crashing every 4 minutes. I'm not sure which one fixed the problem but in combination they are working for me. But I also have my Sequence Settings using Apple ProRes 422 for my Video Previews Codec which I had changed from I-Frame Only MPEG.

I switched my Video Rendering and Playback to "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only" and things are working well again. I had to put that project aside and start a different one with an earlier deadline and I had zero problems with the application freezing up, and interestingly enough, there wasn't any GoPro footage in that project. I am working in a project with a lot of GoPro footage and CC2015 freezes up frequently.
